Locarno 79 dévoile son Palmarès

Pendant onze jours et onze nuits, les salles de Locarno ont de nouveau fait le plein, offrant à un public ravi des rencontres avec plusieurs grands noms du cinéma mondial et de l’industrie internationale. La manifestation s’est achevée par la remise du Pardo d’Oro (Léopard d’or), la plus haute distinction du Festival, au film roumain You Don’t Belong Here.

En point d’orgue de son Palmarès, Locarno79 a sacré You Don’t Belong Here de Florin Șerban, un film qui signe le retour au long métrage du grand cinéaste roumain après huit ans d’absence. Ce drame centré sur la relation père-fils s’est vu décerner le Pardo d’Oro du Jury officiel du Concorso Internazionale du Festival, qui a salué «  la force de son écriture, la singularité de son regard et sa maîtrise exceptionnelle du langage cinématographique.  »

Toujours dans le Concorso Internazionale,The Riverbank (A Margem do Rio) de Matheus Farias et Enock Carvalho a reçu le Prix spécial du Jury. Le Pardo de la meilleure réalisation a été attribué à Hong Sangsoo pour Nowhere to Lay My Eyes (Nun Dul Dega Eomne). Les deux Prix de la meilleure interprétation sont revenus à Kim Minhee pour Nowhere to Lay My Eyes et à Monica Bellucci pour Ketticè de Giovanni Tortorici. Enfin, The Illusion of an Everlasting Summer (La ilusión de un verano sin fin) d’Alessandra Sanguinetti a remporté à la fois le Pardo d’Oro du Concorso Cineasti del Presente et le Swatch First Feature Award.

En mettant en lumière la Roumanie de You Don't Belong Here, le Brésil de The Riverbank, ou la Corée du Sud de Nowhere to Lay My Eyes, le jury a réaffirmé la place centrale de la forme et du langage, tout en défendant un cinéma capable de toucher un large public, comme en ont témoigné les salles combles et l’accueil enthousiaste réservé aux œuvres présentées dans les différentes compétitions, tout au long du Festival.  » – Giona A. Le Festival se clôturera le samedi 15 août sur la Piazza Grande, avec la remise du Prix du Public UBS, suivie de la projection de Ni vue, ni connue de Marc Fitoussi, interprété par Isabelle Huppert et Sandrine Kiberlain.

La 80e édition du Locarno Film Festival se tiendra du 4 au 14 août 2027.
